06/30/2009 - Strong Technologies Debuts Apple Empire

The shop was already buzzing when door burst open and the new visitor called out thank God you're here. That remark appeared to be the consensus during the grand opening of Strong Technologies Apple store" at 1718 E Sprague. Those looking for the new shop should watch for the Strong Technologies Solutions for a Digits Life sign on the front of the building.

With the grand opening, the store space is fully renovated including space for small classes. The class schedule will be posted on the jdstrong.com Web site by the mid-July. They plan to offer basic classes such as "How to use the Mac" for free, and perhaps, weekly if there is sufficient demand. Higher level classes, such as using iPhoto, will carry a fee but still be affordable, according to Sean McKenzie, store manager.

Strong Technologies is a locally owned store of national quality. They plan to build client loyalty based on hard to find inventory and service. "We have the things you can't get in Spokane," says McKenzie. "We offer things that just haven't been available here." Those things include an ADC (Apple digital connector) to DVI connector. Not available anywhere else in Spokane, Strong Technologies carries it and will keep it in stock. Another example is cables for FireWire 200, 800 and USB to Ethernet connectors. "If we don't have it, we'll get it," says McKenzie.

Other Apple specific items available include Office Mac, iLife, iWork, and iPods with extra headphones, cases, cords, and bases. You can find cleaners, keyboard covers, WiFi nodes, mouse, travel adapters, and flash drives. They have cases and covers for everything Mac. Then, of course, you can buy any Mac made.

Strong is certified to service, repair and resell Apple products of all makes and models. If the user in need of a repair has Apple Care, Strong can order and receive a needed part via overnight air, and have the machine repaired and back in service in a very short time.

Although the store doesn't carry professional tools such as dedicated equipment for music editing or video editing, they can order both new components and replacement parts for those items. The service turnaround time will be quick, and the professional user will be back up and running in a short time.
