07/31/2008 - Discovery Series Launches in October

October 17, 2008 marks the beginning of the new Spokane Discovery Series. The purpose of the series of events is to highlight new and breakthrough developments in science, technology and their business applications by showcasing Washington scientists and business leaders, particularly from the Spokane Region. The speaker series is designed for business and community leaders who want to stay on top of important advancements being made in the state, the nation, and the world.

According to program coordinator Kim Stearns, “This is a perfect venue to get caught up on what is new in Spokane. We will hear from business leaders about how businesses are doing in Spokane. We’ll learn about researchers, educators, and new developments and technology being discovered in Spokane, and how we plan to use the new discoveries to benefit our region as well as the state.”

Starting October 17, Discovery Series presentations open with a buffet breakfast at 7:30 am, with the lecture beginning at 8:00 am, at the Spokane Athletic Club at 1002 W Riverside. The intimate setting encourages discussion with a Q&A session following the speaker's presentation. Each session adjourns promptly at 9:00 am.
