Tuesday, December 11, Socializing: 5:30 pm; Presentation: 6:00 pm, Sirti. "Interface Usability - Why It's a Challenge" presented by Richard Steele. It is estimated that nearly 50% of code in user applications is dedicated to interface interaction design and management. This is because -- while coding to get the hardware and software to operate well is challenging – programming to get the stickyware to perform properly is even more challenging. Rule No. 1 in a list of interface design heuristics from IBM states flatly and accurately: "Anyone can design an interface; doing it well is difficult."
