05/31/2006 - Maplewood Sells ScheduleRx

Maplewood Software recently sold one of its ScheduleCore application suite modules, ScheduleRx, to Pharmacy OneSource. ScheduleRx is a pharmacy staff scheduling application, and the sale includes ScheduleRx software and existing pharmacy customer base. Pharmacy OneSource will be responsible for the further development of ScheduleRx and its marketing, sales, and full-service support.

ScheduleRx is the only web-based, staff scheduling application designed specifically to meet the needs of pharmacies. With ScheduleRx, skill-based scheduling is fully automated. It greatly reduces time used in the creation and editing of schedules and saves pharmacy directors frustration and money. Forty-five U.S. hospital pharmacy departments are currently using ScheduleRx.

Maplewood Software is noted for its skill-based, web-enabled scheduling applications and high-throughput database technologies. These technologies, the ScheduleCore suite, include web-based, hospital department-level scheduling applications. “One size does not fit all. We focus our scheduling expertise on the needs of each department,” says Nancy Janzen, CEO of Maplewood. There are scheduling modules for nursing staff, laboratory staff, and radiology staff. “The ScheduleCore application suite reduces the labor associated with creating schedules and empowers employees by keeping them informed, which increases employee satisfaction,” according to Janzen. Clients include Johns Hopkins University, the University of Michigan, Children’s Hospital of Seattle, Sacred Heart Medical Center, and dozens of others.

Pharmacy OneSource, based in Bellevue, Washington, is “pharmacy’s number one documentation and formulary application service provider.” Pharmacy OneSource provides web-based pharmacy applications.

“We are very pleased with the agreement. ScheduleRx dovetails with Pharmacy OneSource’s existing product line and sales model,” said Janzen. “We believe Pharmacy OneSource, maximizing their excellent marketing and sales channels, will take ScheduleRx to an even higher level of market penetration.”

Maplewood will move forward with a continued focus on releasing other web-based applications in its ScheduleCore suite. “We know scheduling; we know what works nationwide, and how to apply these best practices,” says Janzen.
