02/27/2002 - LaunchPad Goes Regional

LaunchPad is issuing a challenge to area businesses--- to step up and show the world the exceptional work that is being done in our region. Business and technology companies can strut their stuff at the next LaunchPad -- coming this May at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Not only are LaunchPad events a good way to meet colleagues, customers, and business leaders, they are “the most fun business functions you will ever attend,” according to Bill Kalivas, LaunchPad visionary.

LaunchPad was the brainchild of Elizabeth Byrd, Bill Kalivas, and Rob Brewster. It grew out of early morning coffee klatches in a coffee house located in the heart of the Terabyte Triangle. These three hard working business people produced the first LaunchPad v1.0, a business event and trade show in the Holley Mason building in November 2000, which drew a crowd of over 700. It was a “sold out” event that has become a yearly tradition. The second event, LaunchPad v2.0 held in October 2001, drew an even larger crowd of 800 at the Fox Theatre. They were also good parties.

Previous LaunchPads have all been within the Terabyte Triangle in downtown Spokane. This May, LaunchPad will have its first regional event in Coeur d’Alene.

Although plans are well under way, there are still sponsorship opportunities and space available for trade show participants. Sponsorships are available at four different levels, and display participation in the trade show requires a nominal fee. For more information, contact Elizabeth Byrd, LaunchPad Productions, 20 W. Main, Spokane, 99201, telephone: 509-218-3903 or

Other contacts are: Bill Kalivas, 509-444-6832, and Robert Brewster, 509-747-7905,

Did we tell you that LaunchPad is a lot of fun?
