02/27/2002 - Peyton Building Adds Fiber

The Peyton Building is the latest Terabyte Triangle Building to add optical fiber connectivity to its list of amenities. A new fiber line, provided by Time Warner Telecom, comes into the building to AIM Communications, an ISP and the Peyton building's network services provider. From AIM, high-speed Internet access wiring is provided to those Peyton building tenants who want and need it. The service is then billed separately from the rent. “It takes us less than a week to provide connectivity for requesting tenants,” says Craig Peterson, AIM Communications COO.

Colonel Ivar Peyton purchased the historical Peyton Building in 1898. It was originally a five-story building, but two additional floors were added in 1909. The building maintains much of its turn-of-the-century charm even though there have been massive renovations to meet modern requirements. Building owner, Pacific Security Financial, Inc. is handling the renovations with care--catering both to tenant needs and to the historical preservation of this wonderful old building. The building has a security card entrance system that allows tenants access after regular business hours and 24-hour video surveillance. Copier and fax services are also available.

The Peyton Building could not be more centrally located. At 10 North Post, it is kitty-corner from the Davenport Hotel, one block from Nordstrom, and across the street from the Spokane Regional Business Center. Within the Peyton Building are two eating facilities, Niko’s Restaurant and N. 10 Lobby Café. The Peyton building is newly connected to the skywalk system, via the Spokane Transit Plaza, for ease in moving around downtown.

Long time Peyton tenant and ISP, AIM Communications, is a full service Internet Service Provider. Among the services AIM provides are domain registration and hosting, business services, custom web site development, and network consulting. Tenants of the Peyton Building who need super high speed and bandwidth can hook directly into AIM’s fiber feed to the Internet. For community customers, AIM provides Internet access for DSL, ISDN, and some other types of circuits. Simple dial up is offered for the low cost of $12.95 per month. Space is available for rent from 180 square feet all the way up to a whole floor, which is 1,200 square feet. Full service rent is $16.50 per square foot per year.
