Mead School District Joins VPnet Consortium
Mead School District is the newest member to join the VPnet consortium. “Mead has made significant technology investments, which will further professional development for the district's staff as well as enhance the learning experience for its students," says Steve Trabun, VPnet President. Mead School District recently completed the installation of a fiber optic network throughout the district, as well as a connection to ESD 101. “We look forward to the new partnership for learning and innovation in the Spokane area” says Dan Butler, Executive Director, Information Services for the District.

Entering Class for Gonzaga University Hogan Program Called ‘Exceptional’
Following a rigorous selection process, 27 freshmen (out of 135 applicants) are entering the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Gonzaga University this fall. This will be the strongest class yet, according to Paul Buller, Director. The academic profile for these newest Hogan students includes an average SAT score of 1,329, which is at the 93rd percentile nationally, and a high school grade-point average of 3.85. More than 90 percent of these students have held leadership positions in their high schools or communities. Approximately half have created a business, nonprofit entity, club or some other initiative, and virtually all have participated in service to their schools and communities.
