SNUG Explores the Capabilities of the New SQL Server Reporting Services
Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 6:00 PM. (Note date change). In this session you will explore the capabilities of the new SQL Server Reporting Services. The session will start with an overview of the Reporting Services architecture. Next, you'll learn how to employ the Reporting Services report designer within Visual Studio .NET to construct complex reports with ease. Covered topics will include: calculated values, groups, headers and footers, aggregate functions, regions, charts, and parameters. You'll also explore the various rendering options available including HTML, PDF, Excel, XML, and TIFF. Presented by Paul Litwin.

SBA Hosts Live Web Chat on Small Business and Health Care
Thursday, August 25 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., EDT. Karen Kerrigan, founder of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council and J.P. Wieske, director of State Affairs for the Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) will host the U. S. Small Business Administration's August Web chat on "Health Care and Your Small Business." Participants will have direct, real-time access to the Web chats via questions they submit online in advance and during the session. Participants can join the live Web chat by going on-line to www.sba.gov, and clicking "Your Small Business Voice Online Chat." Web chat participants may post a question for Kerrigan and Wieske before the August 25 chat by visiting and posting their questions on-line.

Life Science Funding Summit Slated
The Washington Technology Center is hosting the Pacific Northwest Biomedical & Life Sciences Summit on October 7, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. This conference is designed to help Northwest entrepreneurs connect directly with multiple government agencies right here in Washington to learn more about government research and development programs. These agencies collectively invest more than $2 billion annually in life sciences research. WTC is offering special savings to those who sign up early. Register by August 31 for a rate of only $99. On September 1, the regular fee of $125 applies.
