07/31/2005 - Life Science Funding Summit Slated

The Washington Technology Center (WTC) is hosting the Pacific Northwest Biomedical & Life Sciences Summit on October 7, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. This conference is designed to help Northwest entrepreneurs connect directly with multiple government agencies right here in Washington to learn more about government research and development programs. These agencies collectively invest more than $2 billion annually in life sciences research.

Companies working on innovations in the health and biosciences arena may be eligible to collaborate with federal agencies on R&D commercialization through research grants and similar support programs. This conference helps these entrepreneurial companies interact directly with agency representatives and grant experts, which has shown to improve grant proposal success.

WTC is offering special savings to those who sign up early. Register by August 31 for a rate of only $99. On September 1, the regular fee of $125 applies. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and all program materials. For more information about the Pacific Northwest Biomedical & Life Sciences Summit, including a full program agenda, visit the events page on WTC’s website at www.watechcenter.org.

The Life Sciences Summit offers an exclusive opportunity to:
Hear first hand from four federal agencies on what they look for in award-winning biomedical and bioscience research.
Meet agency representatives in one-to-one meetings who can guide and assist you in understanding program development opportunities.
Get professional advice from legal and financial experts on such issues as contract management, business growth and development.
Learn how to leverage awards to advance commercialization efforts.
The Life Sciences Summit is also a great forum for networking with colleagues and business leaders from around the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the program experts, event sponsors represent a wide range of business services and organizations that can help entrepreneurial life sciences companies build and grow their businesses.

Sponsors for the Pacific Northwest Biomedical & Life Sciences Summit include Clark Nuber, Weaver Technologies, Kobe Trade Information Office, Washington State University, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Event partners include Connect Northwest, WBBA, and SIRTI. The Spokane Journal of Business is the official media sponsor for the event and collaborators include Spokane Chamber of Commerce, Montana Bioscience Alliance, and Bellevue Community College
