05/31/2005 - EWU Slates ASP.NET

Everything a user needs to know about ASP.net programming will be taught this summer session by Eastern Washington University (EWU) computer science lecturer Stu Steiner at the Riverpoint Campus. In this class, the student will learn basic to intermediate ASP.net. Students will need to know some basic Web skills and some programming language basics.

Steiner has an MS in CS from EWU but has expanded his interests into Web application development classes. He is part of the new EWU Center for Digital Media Design and Development which matches real world client projects with students of the Engineering and Design department and the Computer Science department.

ASP.net is one of the two most important, dynamic Web Page technologies used today PHP is the other. Especially when used with the .NET platform, ASP.net is becoming the dominant factor for dynamic Web Pages. The class will cover ASP.net to make dynamic web pages, interface with databases, and streaming data such as seen on a site like CNN.

ASP.net, CSCD-398, will meet on Tuesdays and Thursday from 4:00 to 6:25 pm, in the Phase One Classroom Building on the Riverpoint Campus. Class starts Tuesday, June 21 and concludes on August 11. Summer registration is open. Continuing students from EWU can enroll on the Web via EagleNet, at EagleNet.ewu.edu. Other students should enroll in person at:
EWU Spokane Center
795 W 1st Ave, Spokane
Hours 8am to 5pm Mon Friday
