09/30/2004 - EWU and EDC Launch Forum on Emerging Issues

Eastern Washington University (EWU) is partnering with the Economic Development Council (EDC) to launch a quarterly forum, "Eastern Edge," to discuss emerging issues. "Eastern Edge" is an informal, community lunch break and collaborative information exchange that will have its first meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 19. On a quarterly basis, the luncheon will open dialogue between EWU expert faculty, alumni, and community members who will discuss emerging issues affecting our economy and way of life.

John Shovic, PhD will present the first forum, "Eastern Edge: Wireless Security" at 11:30 a.m. at the Ridpath Hotel.
WHAT: Eastern Edge: Wireless Security. How can you or your organization protect itself? The Inland Northwest community is invited to this informal luncheon featuring a new topic each quarter.
WHY: To create stimulating, collaborative discussion among Eastern faculty, alumni and our community surrounding emerging issues impacting our region.
WHO: Eastern Washington University in partnership with the Spokane Area Economic Development Council. Featuring keynote presenter John Shovic, EWU professor of cyber security; co-founder Blue Water Technologies, TriGeo Network Security, AHA, bank CDA; Nominated to the Army Science Board.
WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
WHERE: Ridpath Hotel - Empire Room C, 515 W Sprague Avenue, Spokane
HOW: All community members are invited.
