05/31/2004 - Gonzaga Welcomes SITSA

Spokane Information Technology SIG (Special Interest Group) Alliance (SITSA) has a new venue for its meetings and seminars. Starting with its Tuesday, June 8 meeting, SITSA will meet at Herak Hall on the Gonzaga University campus. Herak is the engineering building, and the meeting will be in Herak 301, on the third floor. The room is media and Internet equipped.

Herak Hall is just west of the Foley Library and the gym. Parking is available on Sharp and the surrounding neighborhood streets. A map to facilitate finding the building is on the SITSA Web site . This venue has been booked for SITSA through the June 2005 meeting.

The Tuesday, June 8 SITSA meeting will be "PDF's on the Fly" presented by Jack-Daniyel Strong. Strong will talk about creating dynamic PDF documents using PHP and a PDF library. Strong, an independent consultant and technology chair for First Night Spokane, will demonstrate how you can create professional looking invoices, white papers, flyers, and more with the portable document format (PDF) on the fly. This talk will cover the basics of placing text and graphics into PDF documents using the PHP scripting language through a Web based interface.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm with networking. The talk will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. There is no charge, and coffee and cookies will be served.
