Budget 101 Workshop with Senator Lisa Brown
Learn how the state budget is put together - and take on the challenge yourself in a mock exercise. The budget workshop will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. October 8 at the Foley Teleconference Center Room and Library located on the campus of Gonzaga University. City of Spokane Economic Development Site Launched
Spokane's Economic Development Office of the Mayor has officially launched the City's economic development Web site at "This new site will allow us to better communicate with citizens and our partners on economic development initiatives, programs and projects," said Tom Reese, Economic Development Advisor. "We look at this tool as an integral part of the public participation process which is so critical to the continued growth and success of the City, and also as the portal through which we can attract and grow businesses that contribute to our community prosperity."

The October program and luncheon meeting of Marketing Associates of Spokane (MAS) will be presented by Merrily Bjerkestrand. She will help teach, in a fun and informal way, the skills needed to make a good, positive impression on clients and others. Merrily, an Etiquette Consultant, will present a refresher course in business etiquette and dining skills that will help increase confidence, authority, and give that extra edge in the competitive world of business.

The meeting will be Thursday, October 9th at noon at the Red Lion Inn at the Park, 303 W. North River Drive in Spokane. The cost is $15 for MAS members and $25 for non-members. ACM Digital Rights Management Seminar Continues
Tuesday, October 14, 2003. Dr. Jeff Putnam, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at EWU, will discuss "Digital Rights Management - Part II" at the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (INACM) special interest group (SIG). The meeting will be held at SIRTI, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd., room 432. It begins at 4:30 p.m. with networking and coffee and cookies. Employment Tax Workshop for Small Businesses -- Free
