Washington Technology Center Provides Aid and Education
The Washington Technology Center (WTC) has a new program to provide companies outside the Puget Sound access to “seed capital.” Two activities will be the core of this program. WTC will work with local community development officials to create and connect area investor groups, thus maximizing and enhancing a deal flow across the state. The second activity is to prepare companies for securing investment. WTC will provide business services such as assistance developing business plans and preparing investor presentations to strengthen a company’s chances of success. SBA Releases Jobs & Growth Act Fact Sheet
The U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy has released an analysis document explaining how the provisions in the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 will help small business owners. The fact sheet covers topics in expensing and depreciation, accelerating the tax cuts, capital gains and dividend tax cuts, and the immediate impact. Tour of the Historic Fox Theatre and the Marketing Strategies Used To Save It
July 10, 2003. The July program and luncheon meeting of Marketing Associates of Spokane (MAS) will shed light on the marketing strategies that were employed to save the historic Fox Theatre. Lorna Walsh of the Spokane Symphony will make the presentation. The meeting will take place on Thursday, July 10th at noon at the Fox Theatre, 1005 W. Sprague Avenue, in Spokane. Hogan Program Receives Grant From Herbert B. Jones Foundation
Gonzaga University's Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program has received a one-year grant of $37,000 from the Herbert B. Jones Foundation. The grant will be used to fund the program coordinator who will assist with various Hogan Program initiatives. The program coordinator establishes and maintains internship opportunities and mentor relationships between entrepreneurial organizations and students. In addition, the coordinator assists with the development and supervision of a student-run New Venture Lab that provides services to entrepreneurs and early stage companies.
