ConoverBond Development Receive Downtown Revitalization Award
Pathways to Progress, Eastern Washington University, and ConoverBond Development were recognized by the State of Washington as having the “Best Economic Restructuring Story” for development of the Dorothy Brewster Residence Hall in downtown Cheney, WA. An award was presented to these organizations during the 17th Annual Downtown Revitalization Training Institute held earlier this month in Chelan, WA. ConoverBond Development’s Terabyte Triangle headquarters is the Holley Mason Building.

Conflict: the Spice of Life
Understanding Its Uses and Abuses in the Workplace is the topic of a Lunch & Learn program by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Spokane Area BIC on Tuesday, June 3, from 12-1:30 pm at the Spokane Regional Business Center (SRBC), 1st floor conference room, 801 W Riverside, Spokane, WA.

Bring a brown bag lunch for this informative session presented by nationally renowned speaker, Dr. Lunell Haught of Haught Strategies, Spokane. Beverages and dessert provided. The AGORA business excellence awards will be presented on Wednesday, June 4, 4:30 p.m. at the Davenport Hotel, 10 N. Post. The Spokane Regional Chamber’s AGORA Awards are the region’s most prestigious awards for business excellence within small, medium and large, and nonprofit categories. This is the Chamber’s 18th year recognizing business in Spokane and the region.

ACM SIG to Hear About VPnet
Tuesday, June 10, 2003. Dr. Steve Simmons, Professor of Computer Science at EWU, will discuss "The Virtual Possibilities Network (VPnet) & Inland Northwest Digital University (INDU)" at the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (INACM) special interest group (SIG). The meeting will be held at SIRTI, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd., room 432. It begins at 4:30 p.m. with networking and coffee and cookies. The talk will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is no charge and the meeting is open to the public. INEEL Open House
Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) will have an open house at the University of Idaho Research Park on Tuesday, June 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The open house will be at the Jacklin Science and Technology Building, 721 Lochsa Street, Post Falls, ID, 83854. There will be tours, an information booth, and Venture capital information. Appetizers, beer, wine, music and a door prize will be provided.

Get Your Foot In The Door
Jolene Barrington, of Fruci and Associates, will present the June program and luncheon meeting of Marketing Associates of Spokane (MAS). Jolene will discuss three key ways you can use offers to get your foot in the door with potential clients, to introduce a new service, grow your presence or enter a new geographical area, or simply differentiate yourself from your competitor.

LaunchPad 5.0
LaunchPad 5.0 is Thursday, June 12. A national economic development expert, downtown investors, and representatives from education, government, and business organizations will be among speakers discussing a collaborative regional economic development strategy. Kirk Watson, a former mayor of Austin, Texas, will deliver the keynote address. LaunchPad v5.0 will feature forums at the Fox Theater and a reception at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Cultures (MAC). Attendance is free and the MAC will be open for tours of the facility.
