AGORA Awards Nominations Due Today
If you know an outstanding business or organization in the Spokane Region that deserves the prestigious business award -- the AGORA -- nominations must be in today, January 31. You can nominate your own business or organization. Nominations are for all categories: small, medium, large and nonprofit businesses. They are due today.

Entrepreneur Boot Camp #1 - The Fundamentals
Entrepreneur Boot Camp #1 - The Fundamentals --- will be held Saturday, February 8th. The Fundamentals is aimed at entrepreneurs who have a solid idea or product, and are just getting started. Experts will be on hand to offer expert advice and valuable information toward developing your idea into a feasible business.

This all-day Boot Camp will be held in the 4th floor boardroom at SIRTI, 665 N. Riverpoint Boulevard in Spokane. It is free and space is limited, so reserve your space as soon as possible. ACM Presents "Applying Genetic Algorithms to Structural Engineering"
On Tuesday, February 11, 2003, Sara Ganzerli, Department of Civil Engineering and Paul De Palma, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, both from Gonzaga University, will explain "Applying Genetic Algorithms to Structural Engineering" at the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (INACM) special interest group (SIG). The meeting will be held at SIRTI, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd., room 432. The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. with networking, coffee and cookies. The talk will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is no charge and the meeting is open to the public. Business Plans in Current Market Conditions
Dr. Harvey Meier, of Harvey A. Meier Company, will present the February program and luncheon meeting of Marketing Associates of Spokane (MAS). Dr. Meier will discuss creating business plans in today’s market conditions. He is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with over 30 years of senior management and business consulting experience in a wide range of industries and business sectors.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 13th at noon at the WestCoast River Inn, 700 North Division Street in Spokane. The cost is $15 for MAS members and $25 for non-members. Selling to the Government, "A How-to Business Workshop"
AHANA and SCORE are co-sponsoring the procurement workshop, Selling to the Government, “A How-to Business Workshop”, on February 27, beginning at 5:30 p.m in the Diamond Room at the Shilo Inn at 923 E 3rd. Inaugural Mardi Gras Ball to Benefit Spokane Charities
New Orleans Bourbon Street excitement will come to life in Spokane to benefit local non-profit organizations when the inaugural Mardi Gras Ball for Charities takes place at the Davenport Hotel on February 28, 2003. A masquerade parade will kick off the evening at the Davenport at 8:30. Individual tickets are $125 and guests may designate a local non-profit organization to serve as a beneficiary from the proceeds of their ticket. Corporate sponsorship packages are also available at various levels.

Corporate sponsors include ICM Asset Management, Inc., Washington Trust Bank, Steam Plant Grill, Klundt Hosmer Design and Rockey West Public Relations.
